week 5

Today in DF I started of by glueing the 6 pipes and the piece that goes in front of the pipes.  I also cut out the small triangles used to hold things in place. I cut to out but when I glued them I only used 1 because if I glued them both you would not be able to put any thing in them. Today I finished my desk tidy and here is a photo of my finished work....

week 4

Today in DF I cut the pencil holes out. But instead of doing 3 (as shown in post 14) i cut out 6 because their was not enough room to do three big pipes but there was enough room to do 6 smaller pipes. I used clear colour pipes. I also cut out the piece of acrylic that sits just after the pipes. Next lesson i’m hoping to glue both the pipes and the piece that goes in front of the pipes.

week 3

Today in DF I cut out the draw (as shown in post 1). It was a little bit tricky as the large band saw was broken. Instead I used the smaller band saw which took a little bit longer to cut out. It was also a bit difficult to cut out as I couldn’t use the sander to sand the corners because it didn’t fit, so instead I used sanding paper and the hand sander. Next lesson I will cut out my pencils holes.

week 2

Today was the day I started to make my desk tidy. First I measured and cut out the basic outline using the band saw and then sanded it down so it would be nice and smooth. I was a bi scared at first to use the band saw because I had never used it before but after I cut i was not scared anymore. After that I glued it together and left it down in a room so nobody would touch it and so the glue would dry. Next lesson I will try and cut out everything so after I do that I can start building everything.

Term 2 week 1

I have changed my idea from reflection 13. I changed it because I liked this idea better than my other idea. I came up with it myself and I think it looks great!
Here is my idea...

I like this idea better because it looks better and it is more simple to make than my other ideas.
